NOTE TO PROPERTY OWNERS

6/8/2011

Dear Town of Abingdon Property Owner,

On behalf of the project team, I want to personally thank you for your cooperation in conducting this important assessment.  Abingdon ’s urban forest is a valuable natural asset that contributes substantially to the local economy, environment, and quality of life.  Gaining a better understanding of the urban forest will enable Town officials to protect and utilize the resource in a cost-effective manner.
Take home messages for property owners:

  1. Your participation is completely voluntary and you may withdrawal your participation at any time.

  2. Data collected from your property will remain confidential and will not be associated with you individually at any time.

  3. Data collection will only occur on your property one day and will only require 20-40 minutes.

  4. You do not have to be present at the time of data collection or interact with the data collectors.

  5. There will be no permanent evidence of data collection left on your trees or on your landscape.

If you have any questions or concerns about your cooperation on this project, please feel free to contact me by phone or email.

Sincerely,
